The uMgungundlovu District Sports Council oversees sport coordination within the district and supports collaboration among affiliated federations and clubs. As a centrally positioned district within the province, it plays an important role in facilitating structured competition and administrative alignment with KZNSC. Home to Pietermaritzburg, the "City of Choice," the district boasts world-class facilities and a rich sporting tradition.
